You’ve got to be super sane
to fight for the rights of your people
Because if you don’t act like a ducks back
if you let them see the slightest crack
they will shake their fists
‘see this is why we can’t talk to the likes of you,
you’re too emotional
mentally ill.’
So I guess we’re supposed to be robots
but then haven’t you heard of the uncanny valley?
we’d still be too human for you!
And that is the crux of the issue
human
The savageness of being human
A contortion of years
Pass by on faces
For milliseconds at a time
Frankenstein’s skeletons within
Gargoyles screaming
Through the pores of our skin
Stories running through the wrinkles
Harbouring humour
Creasing at the thought of those we’ve lost
Skin sagging with the baggage
Being human
Consciousness a savage
Wreaking havoc
On our mammalian brains
Can a man dare to dream
Sit and listen to
The sound of the pitter patter
That abounds
Like constant white noise
Asserting no significant attention
Just the buzz of human relations
Like the wings of a bee
Humming the language of nations
Industrious working of this socialisation
Working its way through the psyche
Of many generations
While clowns look to the clouds
With wisdom in their jest
And hearts of lions pounding in their chest
Perhaps detained
But noticing every freedom
Has it’s own cage
And seeing that maybe
As caged birds flaps their wings
Can a man surely dare to dream?
Peace & harmony
I look for peace & harmony no longer
For seeking it is the biggest war
Man has ever waged
I, the coward
It is through cowardice
That I wake tomorrow
There is no bravery in my step
I only take sidesteps
I wasn’t ready when I was born
I think that’s why my heart was already torn
Even from the womb I knew
I couldn’t be what you do
Gutless from the day I drew breath
