You are a deleterious soul
pushing the buttons of all who dare tread
within pushing distance
of your daily insistence
that you must erase their existence
or else suffer the consequence
of your wrath
dare they breathe upon the same air
dare they leave or come back
on the whims of their own time
I’m a tenant in this glad rag of flesh
running up a debt
do I owe it all to death?
that smiling skeleton
brought my breath
it catches in my throat every now and then
holding it in
then breathing it out when
I’m back in the room again

I’ve not been making it to the bird hides of late, so i searched for photography challenges to try and inspire myself. The list of challenges i found started with my worst nightmare. A self portrait. I often take the piss out of people taking their selfies.
So let me take a moment to humble myself and become one of you selfie takers…

Not the best photo for many reasons, but this is as far as my lens could zoom, and trust me it was pretty far away so given the space between the Heron and I, it’s actually an okay shot.
