Pitter patter
Pitted against one another
The story of rain
On a window
Much like the story of humanity
downhearted men
Trapped in the lace of melancholy widows

At first I was inundated
With feelings familiar
To a once rampant heart beat
That faded into the distance
One frosty night on a darkened street
Where tears and ex lovers came to meet
The feeling to which I’d been acquainted with
Once before those many moons ago
I feel it beating but I swore to never let myself go
Not that way
Not again
And so I left her
In room 13
At The boulevard of broken dreams

I’m frozen
In the presence of your absence
I stand here
In silence
And in
That silence
I don’t
Find peace
Just sadness
In abundance
Wanting
You
My lips
Needing
You
My heart
The silence
A whisper
The atmosphere
You linger
Like a ghost
Haunting
Me

I don’t want to let you go
I want to float away with you
I want to go into oblivion too
My identity insists on you
I can still hear your footsteps echoing
I’m trying to reconstruct these memories
Sharp as razor edges, broken in pieces
I’m trying to find our reflection
But all I see is a stranger fading from me
Your face began to wane
And now you look like anyone
And I’m afraid
Because though you’re slipping away
I’ve left a part of me too
And it’ll always be with you
But all you left me
Were different shades of blue
