Matt this is beautiful- ‘Cotton comfort for heartbreak’ is a standout line, in this short piece you manage to make me feel that ‘homely smell’ against the sterile hospital background I love it🙌. The experience obviously has never left you and I can see that little boy in his Postman Pat pyjamas ♥️

Nothing more comforting than the smell and touch of fresh laundered pajamas. Nice shadorma.

This is so lovely, Matt. My favorite line is “Cotton comfort for heartbreak”. It sounds like there’s a deeply personal story within your poem. Thank you for sharing.

Matt, something about the quiet detail of “laundry, homely smell” makes the moment feel very real and sad to me at the same time.
