I tried to hide in a cup
foldin’ mesel’ into a spoonful
borrowing me downs from me ups
I tried to hide in a cup
It’s safe to say I looked a reet mug
I was half empty, full
I tried to hide in a cup
foldin’ mesel’ into a spoonful
This was written for W3

Nice. 👏 Are you from the North?

Yes and I have grown up around a few different variations of northen accents and they like to come out in my writing sometimes. Lol i find i become more creative the more i lean into my dads side of the familys accent i dont know why. Lol

The dialect makes this – ‘foldin’ mesel’ into a spoonful’ is reet luvly.

Nah, I hate tea. I have had (unserious) debates with people that brits keep lying about their love of tea because no one can like that stuff and i’m the only brit willing to admit its awful. Its a conspiracy, i tell you!

My father was a big tea drinker – I think it tastes like dirty dish water! The only “tea” I can stomach is Chai made with milk and that isn’t one I drink anymore since I don’t do caffeine…

I love the playfulness in “foldin’ mesel’ into a spoonful” — it feels both whimsical and quietly sad at once. This triolet really draws me in, Matt.

I love tea, Matt—and drink it all the time. 😊 I enjoyed your triolet in poetic dialect.
