    thank you so much for this piece, Matt. I like Tom Chaplin music. I remember his struggles with substance use. He is so talented.
    that first stanza waa cleverly written.

      I still listen to the album Under The Iron Sea but it always reminds me of that moment in car waiting in the car park to leave the hospital o had been in for a good while when i was 16

      He’s the lead singer of a band called Keane. He has some solo stuff too though.

    I love this Matt – the brilliant phrase ‘treacled air’ evokes a thick, suffocating environment that makes returning to normal life feel so difficult and strange. And you turn to Keane – Tom Chaplin, for comfort, as he reflects those deep emotions when words fail us ❤️

      Yea, the Keane album was just on in my mums car at the time. Lol but i also do like that album alot.
